The round trip propose the acquaintance of the main touristic objectives from two close districts-Satu Mare and Maramures- emphasizing an ethnographic-folkloric specific: the region Maramures-Oas
Baia Mare: city placed on the shores of the river Sasar, at the foot of Gutai mountains; residence of Maramures district. Museum of history, ethnography, mineralogy, art; monuments of architecture (XV-XVIII centuries)- in Liberty Square; fortress (XV century; fragments from the wall, Bastionul Macelarilor); administrative Palace, with unique architecture (XX); the statuary group “Sfatul batranilor: (Vida Gheza); the Monument of Romanian soldiers (Andrei Ostap); astronomic complex; zoo. Surroundings: the seasonal balneal resorts Apa Sarata, Danesti; the complex for leisure and sports Firiza; complex of leisure and winter sports Mogosa (730m. alt.); climacteric and winter sports resort Izvoarele (910m. alt.)
Satu Mare: city placed on the shores of Somes, residence of Satu Mare district. Ground fortress (Castrum Zotmar) in the principality of Menumorut (X century), “Targul cantarului or Satmar, attested in 1213 documents. Museum of history, ethnography, popular art –edifice from 1797; Turnul Pompierilor – 1904 (“the tower of the firemen”).
Vama: village set on the valley of Talna Mare river. Old settlement, archeology vestiges. Rural museum of history and ethnography; traditional pottery centre. Surroundings: Pucioasa baths (mineral waters); Valea Mariei (mineral waters; hotel).
Negresti Oas: on the shores of Tur river. Centre of the ethnographic area Oas. Museum of Tara Oasului (clothing, ceramics, wood sculptures); house-museum specific to the region; collection of popular art and photos (Ionita Andron). Surroundings: Bixad (balneal resort, 178m. alt.; water bottling); Dealul Huta (Sambra oilor, folkloric manifestation in the first Sunday from May).
Sapanta: village near Tisa, old shepherds settlement. Carpets and textures with specific tracery; “Cimitirul vessel” (“the joyful cemetery”), with original paintings of the countryman –painter Ion Stan Patras.
Sighetul Marmatiei: city attested in 1326, residence of Maramures in 1383-1401. Museum of ethnography (graved wood, ceramic, masks); the Museum of the Maramures’s village; monuments of architecture (XVI-XVII centuries); Festival of traditions and winter customs ( last week of December).
Viseul de Sus: city on Viseu valley. Documentary mentioned in 1365. Surroundings: Vaserului Valley –fishing area; Maramures mountains (Pietrosul Bardaului summit, 1850m. alt.).
Moisei: village on Viseu valley. Wood made monument of architecture-1672; sculptural assembly –Vida Geza- in the memory of anti-fascists heroes.
Borsa: city settled to Viseu sources. Surroundings: baile Borsa ( mineral waters); touristic complex Borsa (climacteric and winter sports practicing resort, 850m. alt.); trips in Maramuresului mountains (Toroioaga summit, 1930m. alt.) and Rodnei ( Pietrosu summit, 2303m. alt.); Prislop gorge (1416m. alt.).
Sacel: village at Iza sources, at the border of historic Maramures and Nasaud. Millenary pottery centre where is used the Dacian tracery.
Bogdan Voda: village (former Cuhea) on Izei valley, voivodal capital, residence of Bogdan I (1359-1365). Fortification (XIV century, ruins) wood monument of architecture (1718). Surroundings: Ieud village ( the oldest monument wood made from Maramures, 1364; “Zbornicul de la Ieud”, on of the eldest Romanian writings).
Vadul Izei: village at the confluence of Iza with Mara. Traditional centre of wood carving. Wood architecture, gates (the house of Gh. Borodi). Surroundings: Mara valley (upstream- wood architecture, peasant harbor and craftsmanship specific in Maramures); Gurai gorge-1109m. alt.
