MIXT-UP ADVENTURE
Route Description:
It’s a beautiful escape from the daily, a complex adventure compounding: mountaineering, rock climbing in Piatra Craiului Mountains, mountain-biking in wild areas and also through the beautiful villages surrounding the mountains, a collection of great photographs, romanian traditional food and nice chalet evenings.
Length: 7 days / 6 nights
Necessary equipment: boots, rain coats, backpack, hat (for rain and sun).
Important: the tariff includes:
- serving meals starting with the evening of day 1 and ending with the morning of day 7;
- accommodation in a chalet with reasonable comfort (20 places in 4 rooms, 3 WC cabins and 2 hot water showers, spacious dining room, equipped kitchen);
- guiding fee for all days and activities;
- visiting fees for the First Romanian School, Black Church (Brasov) and Bran Castle;
- the mountain-bike for two days;
- transport from Brasov to the chalet the first day and from the chalet to Brasov the last day.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival in Brasov, short tour of the medieval city with the visiting of some important objectives like “First Romanian School” from Scheii Brasovului, the Black Church from the old city, “Piata Sfatului” and the “History Museum” (if the time allows it) and transfer with the car or minibus (depending on the number of persons) to Zarnesti (30 km) and “Dan” chalet which is in a very picturesque place near the Piatra Craiului Mountains (11 km). Dinner at the chalet.
Day 2:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. We will go deep into the wild beauty of the mountain through the “Bears Valley”, we’ll pass the “Diana” refuge, go on to the ridge of Piatra Craiului through the “Braul Caprelor”, go on the ridge to the “Popii Peak”, descend rough “Padina Popii” to “Diana” refuge and then back to the chalet through the “Bears Valley”. Dinner at the chalet.
Day 3:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. Mountain-biking: “Barsa Grosetului” valley, “Fata Ilii”- under the “Taga Massive”, crossing to “Barsa Fierului”, “Barsa Mare” valley and back to the chalet. The road traverses beautiful forestry areas, some of them real paradise for the wild animals of the Romanian Carpathians. Dinner and a nice chalet evening.
Day 4:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. Today we will make a mountain-bike tour through the “Barsa” valley to Zarnesti, we’ll cross “Predelut” village and arrive to “Bran Castle” – which we will also visit. Then we’ll go up to “Pestera” village, cross the “Magura” village – with it’s beautiful traditional houses, then descend to Zarnesti and then to the chalet for dinner.
Day 5:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. We’ll cross the “Bears Valley” and arrive to “Turnurile Dianei” where we’ll make rock climbing. The route does not require climbing knowledge, it is conceived for learning basic elements of rock climbing. We’ll go to the “Coltul Chiliei” hermitage and then through “Barsa Valley” back to the chalet for dinner.
Day 6:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. Today we’ll have another beautiful day of mountaineering in the spectacular Piatra Craiului Mountains. We’ll start with the “Barsa Tamasului” Valley, then up to the “Spirlea” refuge – with a splendid view of the mountain, pass through, cross the “Grand Scree”, arrive to “Cerdacul Stanciului” – a cave which roof collapsed and we’ll enter into the “Stanciului Cave”. Then we’ll go back to “Umerii Pietrii Craiului”, we’ll go on the “Tamasului Peak”, “Tamasului Valley” and back to chalet for dinner and a nice chalet evening with a camp fire.
Day 7:
Breakfast and preparing the sandwiches for the road. Transfer to Brasov with the car or minibus.
