Hiking in the Massive-Retezat-Godeanu-Tarcu

Route Description:

Adventure, trails, hiking, exploring … in National Park Retezat and Hateg Country.

1. Mountain trails with camp (2 or 6 days), exploration in the Mountains Godeanu and Tarcu, areas with unmarked routes. Feature of these mountains are alpine meadows above 2000m altitude and glacial lakes.

2. Tourism program for 3-5 days in Hateg Country and Retezat Mountains

Mountain route: The Valley of The Big River – Mouth of the Bucura – Bucura Lake – Bucura Peak – Retezat Peak.

Sightseeing in Hateg Country (churches, fortresses, monasteries, castles, ancient remains).

The route is aimed at a number of 15 – 20 persons, aged between 12 – 60.

P.S. It organizes easy trails in the area of National Park Retezat, for groups of children and adults, without age limit.

Route Difficulty: medium.

The year: the summer tourist season: June to September (October), and the mountain routes all year for sightseeing in the country Hateg.

Access: transportation by minibus to Gura Bucurii (Mouth of Bucura)- hiking (mountain trail) from Gura Bucurii to Peak Retezat.

Minimum required equipment:
· Mountain boots
· Training, thick shirt / polar
· Rucksack – maximum 60 liters
· Flashlight
· Raincoat for rain water
· Bottle of whater 0.5 l minimum

Day 1
· The arrival on the Great River
· Accommodation and catering – cottages or hostels (**, ***) on the valley of the Great River (Raul Mare).
· Visit the surroundings
· Dinner in the open and camp fire.

Day 2
· Breakfast at the cabane, to go lunch in route
· Departure: Dam Water Mouth (Gura Apei) – Gura Bucurii (minibus) – Bucura Lake (snack) – Bucura Peak – Peak Retezat – back to the cabin; Route 8 -9 hours. This route can adapt to difficult and time, depending on group requirements and tourist. Climbing on Peak Retezat can be optinonal. You can choose other routes in the area.
· Dinner at the cabane.

Day 3
· Breakfast at the chalet
· Visit tourist targets from Hateg Country: Monument Church Ostrov (sec XIII), and Fortress and Church Colt (XIV sec), Castle and Church Orlea Santamaria (sec.XIV); Lunch at the restaurant on route
· Dinner at the cabane.

Day 4
· Breakfast at the chalet
· Visiting tourist targets Hateg Country: Prislop Monastery(XV sec), Church Monument Densus (XIII sec) – the oldest from the north of the Danube, Roman ruins Sarmisegetusa Ulpia Traian; Lunch at restaurant on route
· Dinner at the cabane and camp fire.

Day 5
· Breakfast at the cabane
· Packing luggage and visiting The Reserve of Aurochs from Forest Slivut – Hateg.
· Lunch at a restaurant in Hateg;
· Departure home.

Routes can be made to tourist demand, depending on how many days they want and what places they want to visit. Accommodation may be made at the hostels of *** stars as well as mountain cabans or tent. During winter we can realize and trips to ski ramp from part Rausor and winter laps (routes ridge) with skis and snowboard in the Mountains Retezat.

Transportation in the area can be done by minibus – organizes upon request, for groups of 16-20persoane, departing from any city in the country; own car; by train to station Simeria or Subcetate and from there with minibus.
