Route Description:

2 Days Itinerary

Day 1

Sinaia – Cota 2000 (Altitude 2000) – Mt. Furnica (Ant’s Mountain) – Cab. Piatra Arsa (Torched Stone Cabin) – Cabana Babele (Old Ladies Cabin) – Crucea de pe M. Caraiman (Caraiman Cross) – Cabana Vf Omu (Omu Peak Cabin).

We leave the town of Sinaia, also known as “Pearl of Romanian Carpathians”, and have a lovely walk up to Cota 2000. Then, we cross the Ant’s Mountain (2103 m altitude) admiring the vast landscapes stretching all around us and reach the Torched Stone Cabin situated in a large and beautiful plateau.
Ahead of us, the Old Ladies Cabin awaits surrounded by the spectacular stone formations ”Old Ladies” and ”The Sphinx”, and, after we admire them for a little while, we head on to Omu Peak Cabin, the highest point in Bucegi Mountains (2505 m altitude), where we have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2

Cabana Vf Omu (Omu Peak Cabin) – Vf Gutanu (Gutanu Peak) – Saua Batrana (Old Lady Saddle) – Coltii Tapului (Billy Goat’s Fangs) – Saua Strunga (Pass Saddle) – Cabana Padina (Padina Cabin) – Saua Laptuci (Lettuce Saddle) – Valcelul Vf cu Dor (Dale of Longing Peak) – Sinaia

From Omu Cabin we continue our trip to the Western ridge of Bucegi Mountains, which is poorly populated, cross the Ladie’s, Gutanu and Grohotis (Detritus) Mountains until we get to the Pass Saddle (1909 m altitude), where we start walking down towards Padina Cabin (1525 m altitude).
We keep on going on the Lumberers’ Valley all the way to Lettuce Saddle where we start climbing up the Dale of Longing Peak, reach Cota 2000 and then go down again to the town of Sinaia.
