SKI TOURING

Route Description:

Are you passionate to discover the ski touring secrets in less known areas of the Carpathians???
Do you want something more special than just a ski touring route???
Do you love the movement and the sustained effort dosed with some adrenaline???
But you didn`t found someone to discover the special areas in the Romanian mountains and for practicing ski touring safetly???
Than came and do not hezitate and you will meet a new friend: “The mountain guide”.

I organise winter routes to familarity with the ski touring or for tourists with experience in this sport…everything is organised in safetly, being assisted by the Professional Mountain Guide authorized by the Mountain Guide Association in Romania…

Ski touring is the way of movement of a skier on snow using skis whose links are fixed and attached on boots, but mobile at the heel. Touring skis combines, in a happy way, all the advantages of the trail skies, such as: width and greater resistance than cross country skies, security ties different than those of alpine skiing, the possibility to descend into cornes.

Where do I organise these routes?

The routes that I organise are in fagaras Mountains (Transylvanian Alps) and the most imposing mountains in Romania, Cindrel Mountains, high and welcoming, good for practicing ski touring, and Lotrului Mountains, little wild but with a diversificate area of practicing the routes in safetly.

Route schedule:

Day 1: Arrive in Sibiu and transfer to the Rubin Hostel (***), meal at the hostel or if you want to a traditional restaurant with Romanian cuisine, accommodation will be in rooms with 2-3 beds.

Day 2: The first day in mountains…after having breakfast at the hostel, we will move to Paltinis Resort (Cindrel Mountains), our first destination, housing at Casa Turistilor (***)…the first route will be Paltinis (1540 m altitude) – Poiana Oncesti – Batrana Peak – Rozdesti Peak – Saua Batrana and back to Paltinis through Poiana Gaujoara…duration : 4-5 hours , housing at the hotel mentioned above in rooms with 2-4 beds, serving dinner…

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Sambata Complex, climbing to the Valea Sambetei cottage, housing at the Valea Sambetei or Mountain rescue team Victoria cottage, serving lunch and then a small route to accommodate with the area and with the slopes in Fagaras, dinner at one of these cottages.

Day 4: Breakfast at Valea Sambetei cottage, continuing a shift throughout the Sambata Valley with choosing a route…to heights of 2000 meters of the Massive, on the route Sambata Valley cottage(1401 m altitude) – Crucea Ciobanului – Fereastra Mare a Sambetei (2188 m altitude) and back throught a very pleasant descent, or if the time and the tourist’s physical condition allows, bypassing the Fereastra Mare a Sambetei (2188 m altitude) to Cheia Bandei peak ( 2383 m altitude ) followed by a descent to the cottage …. dinner at one of the cottages.

Day 5: Breakfast at Valea Sambetei cottage and than descending the Sambata Valley and transfer to the Balea Lac Touristic Area…with climbing to Balii Valley up to the Balea Lac cottage (2034 m altitude) or Paltinu cottage (2044 m altitude) where we will accommodate…

Day 6: After serving breakfast we will leave in a demanding route with climbing up to aproximative 2250 m altitude in Curmatura Balii, a descent as you wish on the valley above the Balii Valley, named Valea Doamnei (Doamnei Valley), and back with climbing the Balii Valley up to the cottage…serving dinner.

Day 7: Breakfast at the cottage, descending the Balii Valley up down where we will be picked up for the transfer to Sibiu…depending on your time remain until you leave the country, we can visit various cultural objectives of Sibiu…end of the route.

· Windstopper or Gore–Tex jacket

We exclude assuming any responsibility on loss, distruction of property, material damage or personal injury (including death), that may suffer the client, as a result of:

· His physical unprepeared
· Forces of the nature
· Drinking and drugs
· Failures of the plant of the equipment used
· Limited acces to medical service

Prices: 650 euro / 1 person

The price includes:

· Transport on the hole period of the route
· Cable car transport Balea (if we need)
· Housing in hostels, hotels or cottages
· Breakfast, lunch, dinner
· Services of an accredited (by Mountain Guide Association in Romania – A.G.M.R) mountain guide

The price does not include:

· Other products that you consume (drink, food) than that what is proposed
· Life or accident insurance to cover rescue in case of force majoure
· Ski equipment;
