Ramnicu Valcea- Curtea de Arges- Vidraru- Balea Cascada- Cartisoara- Avrig- Sibiu- Cisnadie- Sadu- Brezoi- Voineasa- Calimanesti- Ramnicu Valcea
The road combines the passing of a millenary road (Olt Valley) with crossing Carpathians on Transfagarasan highway that unites the north of Muntenia with the south of Transylvania.
Ramnicu Valcea – city settled on the middle course of Olt, residence city of Valcea district. Old settlement, documentary mentioned in 1338. The museum of the Valceanean village (Bujoreni); the memorial house Anton Pann; monuments of architecture (XVI-XIX century); museum complex in the honor of 1848 year (Troian hill). Surroundings: the balneal-climacteric resorts Ocnele Mari, Calimanesti-Caciulata, Olanesti, Govora.
Cartisoara: village set on the valley of the river with the same name. memorial museum Badea Cartan.
Balea Cascada: touristic area of high interest as a result of the construction of hydro-energetic complex from the Arges sources. Reservoir, dam, statue “Electricitatea”, Cumpana chalet, Valea cu pesti-the valley with fishes. Surroundings: Arges keys; the fortress from Poienari (XIV-XV century).
Curtea de Arges: city settled on the superior course of Arges. Voievodal residence in XIII century, the second capital-city of Wallachia (1350-13996). The main fortress of the leader (XIII-XIV century; ruins); architectural monuments (XIII-XVIII century); the Fantana of Manole. Surroundings: Bradetu (balneal-climacteric resort, 685m. alt., recommended for treating the affections of locomotive system, alimentary channel, in convalescents).
Avrig: village settled on Olt valley. Fortress (ruins); memorial museum Gheorghe Lazar; museum of ethnography; the folk school of textures and seams; Brukenthal castle (XVIII century). Surroundings: the chalets Poiana Neamtului, 706m alt., Baracaciu-1550m. alt., Negoiu-1546m. alt., Suru summit-2282m. alt., Avrig lake-2011m. alt.
Sibiu: city settled on the shores of Cibin; residence of Sibiu district. Vestiges from the Neolithic age, hypothetical Dacian-Roman settlement-Cedonia; documentary attested in the Middle Age, in 1192. Medieval city (XIII-XVIII; vestiges); Pasajul scarilor, Podul minciunilor (XIX century); Brukethal museum, the oldest from the country (1817); Exhibit –the history of the city (Turnul Sfatului, 1588); Exhibit of weapons and hunting trophies, unique in the country; monuments of architecture (XIII-XIX centuries); the museum of popular techniques (in Dumbrava).
Cisnadie: settled at the foots of Cibin mountains, settlement documentary mentioned in 1204. Medieval architectonic ensemble (XIII-XVIII century); museum; monument of architecture in Roman style, the oldest from the country (1223, Csinadioara)
Sadu: village set on the valley of the river with the same name. Mines exploitation probably around 1100; documentary attested in 1383. The first hydroelectric from the country (1897), on Sadu river. Surroundings: Preajba chalet -1630m.alt., Gatu Berbecului chalet-1175m. alt.
Brezoi: city placed at the influx of Lotru in Olt. Old forestry centre. Architecture from wood (XVIII-XIX) specific to the area.
Voineasa: village set on Lotrului Valley. Climacteric locality -620m. alt.
Calimanesti: city placed on Olt Valley, complex of permanent balneal-climacteric resorts (Calimanesti-Caciulata-Cozia)-260m. alt. – recommended for diseases of the alimentary channel, kidneys, locomotive system; monuments of architecture.
