The itinerary brings into attention places less frequented by travelers, but with nothing under the value of the famous touristic areas
Buzau: city on the right shore of the river with the same name, residence of Buzau district. Vestiges from Paleolithic, powerful Geto-Dacian centre under Burebista, documentary mentioned 1600 years ago- anniversary celebrated in 1976; residence of Wallachiar in 1432-1470, Episcopal residence from 1540. Museum (history, ethnography, numismatics); assembly of medieval architecture (1649); the city hall palace (1903); statues; Crang and Tineretului gardens. Surroundings: Frasinu and Spataru forests (scientific reservations).
Urlati: town on the superior valley of Cricovul Sarat. Vestiges from Neolithic, documentary attested in XVI century. Museum (ethnography, plastic art, vine-growing history)-in architectonic complex Bellu ( XVIII century); the voivodal house built by C. Brancoveanu in the middle of the vineyards. (around 1700).
Sangeru: village at the sources of Cricovul Sarat. Rural museum (history, ethnography, natural sciences) memorial monument (1907). Surroundings: Apostolache village (vestiges of some antiques fortifications; medieval architecture, 1600).
Sacele: locality formed from the union of four from the seven Sacelean villages from Tarlungului valley. Ethnography and folk art museum-in the former “casa a dijmelor”-“tithe’s house” (1543). Surroundings: the balneal-climacteric seasonal Zizin, 609m. altitude, indicated for treating the alimentary channel, renal, cardio-vascular and genecology diseases.
Cheia: village founded in 1864 on Teleajenului Valley, at the foot of Ciucas mountains, in the environs of Bratocea Pasului (1263m. alt); permanent climacteric resort (870m. alt) recommended in treating the asthenia, tiredness, insomnia and anemia, asthma and chronic diseases of respiratory system. Possibility to practice ski. Museum “Natura vaii Teleajenului”-“the nature of Teleajenului Valley”; monastic architectural complex (1835). Surroundings: Cheitei valleys, Muntele Rosu (1260m. alt.) and Ciucas (1550m. alt.) chalets.
Valenii de Munte: city, the main settlement from Teleajenului Valley, documentary mentioned in 1431 as “targ al sacuienilor”-“borough of the Secuians”, climacteric locality (431m. alt.). the memorial museum Nicolae Iorga and a collection of feudal art in the former house of Saantului (XVIII century), ethnographical museum; the memorial house of Nicolae Tonitza (1921-1924). Surroundings: Hanul Rosu (halting place at 1610, nowadays museum of the old means of transport); Drajna village (antiques vestiges, architecture and grinder of stone, XVIII-XIX).
Slanic: city settled on the valley of the river with the same name, balneal-climacteric resort (400m. alt.). It caught shape around 1885, because of the lakes formed in the former Salt mine ; afterwards seven springs with mineral water are discovered, it is used sapropelic mud and more recently, are the treatments anti-asthma in “Unirea” salt mine (with sculptures in the underground). Therapeutic indications: affections of the locomotive system, genecology, bronchial asthma, anemia, debility at children. The museum of the salt- the former salt mine (1800); the mountain of sea, monument of the nature.
Prejmer: village settled in the environ of the superior valley of Olt. Peasant’s fortress (XV-XVI), the most powerful stronghold from medieval Transylvania.
Siriu: village on the superior valley of Buzau river, at the confluence with Siriu river. Dam, reservoir. Seasonal balneal-climacteric resort of local interest (508m. alt.) recommended in treating the rheumatism, alimentary channel, genecology. Mausoleum (1916-1918, 1944). Surroundings: trips in Siriului mountains (Siriu summit, 1668m. alt.); Siriului keys.
Nehoiu: village upstream Buzau valley. Surroundings: Gura Teghii village (wood architecture; annual folkloric festival); Varlaam village ( start point in trips on Penteleu mountain, 1775m. alt.
Cislau: village downstream on Buzaului valley. Sericulture, horse ranch. Surroundings: Buda village (Curtea Doamnei Neaga, 1580; vestiges); Chioldului valley.
Ciuta: village downstream Buzaului valley. Traditional settlement for stone-carvers. Monument dedicated to Mihai Viteazul.
Sarata Monteoru: village at the springs of Sarata river, trough sub-Carpathians hills from the exterior of the curvature area of the Carpathians. Monteoru culture (Bronze Age), Dacian fortification. Seasonal balneal-climacteric resort (86m. alt.) recommended for rheumatism, genecology, alimentary channel and annex glands. Monteoru Manor (XX century); petroleum mine (unique in Europe).
Berca: village on the left shore of Bucau. Ancient settlement, mentioned at 1552. Oil “Shell”. Medieval architectonic assembly (1694). Surroundings: Paclele village (muddy volcanoes, monument of nature)
Vintila Voda: village on the superior valley of Buzau’s Slanic. Medieval fortifications (XVI century; ruins)
Manzalesti: village to Slanic sources; settlement mentioned at 1522. Surroundings: Menedicului lakes.
Lopatari: village at the sources of Slanic. Wood architecture, folkloric area. Surroundings: Terca village( “vividly fire”, gases emanation with permanent burning); Mociaru lake.
