ABOUT – MIHAI OLENICI TEAM

Mihai Olenici team is an Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism Programme developed in Apuseni Mountains/Western Carpathians, Romania through Eco Transilvania Ltd. by a group of young enthusiasts, who made a way of life from their common passion for these unique mountains.

The Mihai Olenici team is committed to share its knowledge and love for Apuseni Mountains – for their history, culture and nature while offering, at the same time, opportunities for sustainable development of their communities. In this respect, the team strives to provide best interpretative cultural and natural experiences and use responsible bussiness to preserve the unique heritage of Apuseni Mountains.

It is focused on those target groups strongly willing to be active actors in the field of responsible
tourism. 10% of company’s revenues are pledged to local and external initiatives of conservation and promotion of natural and cultural patrimony of the Apuseni Mountains.

Standard and tailor made ecotourism and adventure tourism programs are offered, all seasons, for all ages and levels of experience, such as: caving, hiking, trekking, cultural programs, nature photography, flora and fauna observation, alpine touring ski.

We are proud to be member of the Association of Ecotourism in Romania and honoured partner of Leave no Trace , Apuseni Natural Park , AlpinExpe, Romanian Federation of Speology .

TEAM:MIRCEA NEGRAU

27 years old, the youngest member of our team, he has graduated Environmental Geography at University of Oradea. He has a keen interest in everything related with the natural environment. He speaks English and Hungarian. Areas of responsibility: hiking.

ANDREI POSMOSANU

47 years old, he is an amateur photographer and caving trainer in the Romanian system. He is the author of most pictures you can enjoy in our brochure and web page. He speaks English and French. Areas of responsibility: nature photography & caving.

PAUL IACOBAS

33 years old, founder of the Apuseni Experience Programme, degree in tourism. He speaks English. Areas of responsibility: management, marketing, hiking.

MIHAI OLENICI

Aged 41, Mihai is trained as trainer in NGO management. He is fond of nature – mountains, forests – and has fauna watching and angling as hobbies. He is interested in traditional culture. Speaks English and his area of responsibility is marketing.

VIOREL LASCU

48 years old, aircraft engineer, president of the Romanian Caving Federation. He has extensive experience in caving and related activities, being one of the main cave explorers in Romania for the last decades. His energy, sense of humor and commitment to innovation are some of the main assets that he brings in the team. He speaks French. Areas of responsibilities: caving.
